THE COST OF WAITING

Waiting can cost a life.

What if we had never waited for a better time, a clearer opportunity, a calmer time, a safer move, more certainty?

Waiting for something to be right to act. Waiting for something or someone to trigger our action. Waiting for something to let us move.

This sounds like a permission to live. A permission to be who we truly are. How would that has changed our lives? Would our lives be different? Would our life be better? Being better is never guaranteed. Doing all we can is.

This is a magic feeling to know that we have lived through something at out fullest, at out 100% or even more. Living less than that is a self-betrayal.

Why are we betraying ourselves? The fear and doubt couple. They are silent and invisible destroyers. Do we want to destroy ourselves? No consciously.

It all comes down to giving in to something, giving our power away, giving our best life away so easily, so carelessly … thinking “I will do it next time, next week, when thing get better, when there is more time, when the right opportunity reveals itself, when the conditions are right …

What if acting uncomfortably is the answer. Realizing that the best result we wish for is not guaranteed.

And still making a move.

Amidst uncertainty, doubt, fear, no support from others …

Then even if we do not get what we want, we don’t owe anything to ourselves, we are even to ourselves. There is nothing in the line for us to act on, to try out, to test, to endeavor.

It’s like using all bullets in the gun, not leaving a single one in “just in case” or to get rusted over time and never be used. Wasted bullets. Wasted opportunities, wasted ideas.

How we handle acting versus waiting is how we live, this is where the answer to most our questions lie, this is what is so easy to pretend does not exist
